Welcome to Bourbon Rose Australian Labradoodles!  We take great pride in being one of only a handful of ALAA registered breeders in the state of Florida.  Established in 2021, we specialize in raising happy, healthy, multigenerational Australian Labradoodles, an exceptional breed known for their sweet temperaments, emotional intelligence and low to non shedding coats.  Australian Labradoodles are sought after family pets, service animals, therapy dogs and ESAs.  Our dog parents are extensively health tested and registered with the Australian Labradoodle Association of America (ALAA).  Puppies are born and raised in our home on the beautiful Emerald Coast in Navarre, Florida, ensuring each puppy is loved on every day.

The Original "Doodle"

The history of the Australian Labradoodle can be traced back to the 1980s when Wally Conron, from Royal Guide Dogs in Victoria, Australia, set out with the goal was to create a breed with the qualities of a service dog that was also hypoallergenic. Out of 31 Labradoodles bred, 29 of them went on to become guide dogs...an astounding number and exceptional achievement!

 

In order to ensure consistent conformation, coat type, and temperament, Australian breeders at Tegan Park and Rutland Manor took on the task of producing litters with these attributes. Different dog breeds, such as the English Cocker Spaniel and Irish Water Spaniel, were introduced into Labradoodle lines for this purpose.

 

An Australian Labradoodle differs from a Labradoodle in that it is a crossbreed that incorporates Poodles, Cocker Spaniels, Irish Water Spaniels and Labrador Retrievers, whereas the Labradoodle is specifically a mix of Labrador Retrievers and Poodles.

 

Organizations like the ALAA (Australian Labradoodle Association of America) have been established to protect and promote the development of Australian Labradoodle lines. Strict guidelines are followed when considering the introduction of Spaniels into specific lines, and infusion committees evaluate the potential benefits of introducing other dog breeds with caution.

 

Here at Bourbon Rose Australian Labradoodles, our dogs are "multigenerational"...meaning that there has not been any infusions or crossings for many generations. We choose our breeding dogs carefully and health test thoroughly. Our puppies simply cannot be lumped into the "doodle" category...they really are a breed of their own with pedigrees, papers and traceable DNA.  This results in temperament, confirmation, and coat consistancy!
